BBTB2 - Dance to the Music

Happy Memorial Day to all, especially those who have served our country.  My 92 year old uncle served in WWII.  He was stationed in Alaska, met my aunt, and never left.  He still lives on his own island in Sitka!

Today at BBTB2, Emily, of Mollies Motif, is our hostess.  She asked us to use a Cricut cut(s) that incorporates dance or music.  I am determined to get more pages done for my daughter's wedding, so I created a layout of the first dance.  She had doilies on the tables, so I took a little one and incorporated it.  My inspiration comes from a page out of a 2012 issue of Creating Keepsakes (I really miss that magazine).

I just took the plunge and brought the year's subscription to Design Space, so you will be seeing me use New-to-Me cartridges in my creations.  Even though I have over 85 cartridges, there is so much more that comes with the subscription.

Lots of cartridges used this week on the project -  Starting with the couple inside the heart - this is really a combination of two cuts - the couple is from Valentines Sweets (hiding the heart background) and then I over-layed that on the heart from Twinkle Toes, removing the center word of Dance.  The sheet music is from PaperLace2, the border at the top is from Ribbon and Rossettes, and the font is Cricut Cake.   Link up your project to BBTB2 this week and join in our Music and Dance theme!

BBTB2 Cricut FROGS Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

I am sure you all know the old rhyme "Girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice.  Boys are made of frogs, and snails, and puppy dog tails".   I just love this saying and have wanted to use it with a baby picture of both my grandkids.   I used the cutest photo of my grandson at 4 months - he is giving a big smile and I managed to snap a good one (out of about 8 taken).

Our challenge at BBTB2 this week is hosted by Diana of D.L.Art.  She has asked us to use a FROG in our project, card, or layout.   There are lots of frogs to select from, and I used this one from "Give a Hoot".  The snail is from "Art Nouveau", and the Dog with boy is from "A Child's Year".  The swirly frame is from Elegant Edges and I must admit on both layers, the cut snagged a bit.  Fonts are Cindy Loo, Disney, and Don Juan.  It was fun using different fonts and I designed it completely on Design Space.  I usually don't design an entire layout in DS, I just make cuts and design as I go or from the design in my head.   This layout took 15 mats but really didn't take that long to cut.   Join us at BBTB2 this week for the FROG challenge and link up your Cricut project for all to see.

BBTB2 Cricut - Teacup and Teapot Challenge - A card for my Aunt

Susan is so lucky to host our challenge this week at BBTB2, and it's "A teapot or teacup".  She always comes up with great projects, so be sure to look at all of the fun creations and link up yours to our challenge.  Here is the link:  http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/.

This is a birthday and Mother's Day card for my only remaining aunt, who is turning 90 this week.  There will be a little party at the retirement home and I'm glad I'll get to see her.

Someone in one of the FaceBook groups created several gatefold cards using Ornamental Iron as the base.  I cut out a few of the bases when the subscription was free.  Just need to decorate as the occasion arises.  I used the Imagine More to print and cut the tea cup and Wild Card 2 for the "You are my cup of tea" inside sentiment.  That is Mary Englebreit paper that someone gave me. (I wish I could get my old printer to print nicer).

BBTB2 - Cricut Mother's Day Card 2015

Happy Mother's Day to all Moms or Moms-to-be.   This week at BBTB2, our hostess, Caroline, sends greetings to our mothers by asking us to create a Mother's Day card or project.

Well, I had this wonderful project on canvas in my head for months - and went to create it this week and it turned out terrible.  In fact, it didn't turn out at all and I scrapped it altogether.   So I went to Design Space to create a ready-made simple card.   And that's what I have today - however, I added a little extra couple of cuts to make it special - it will go to my daughter.  I took two different cuts from A Child's Year and combined them so there are two children with the mom and pop-dotted it onto a circle on top of the Mother's Day Card 07 image.   Join us for the Mother's Day challenge at BBTB2.
