BBTB2: Sweet St. Patrick's Day Girl

Dance as if no one were watching.
Sing as if no one were listening.
And live every day as if it were your last!

I love Irish blessings and sayings.  I used to keep a few on my wall at work just for inspiration.

This week we are celebrating St. Patrick's Day at BBTB2.  Emily, our hostess for the week, from "Mollie's Blog" has given us a great challenge - which is to use 3 different green colors on our project or cards.  Pretty easy for me, I have lots of green cardstock.   I made an adorable card for my granddaughter using an SVG from Kraftgineer Studio, and a cut from the St. Patrick's Day cartridge.  There were some tiny pieces to this little girl, and I actually almost gave up as I made this at the retreat and didn't have tweezers to glue the pieces down.   I only added ink for the edges and Stickles for the eyes, and off she was - dancing an Irish gig for you all.  Link your card or project up to our Blinky on the Bitten By the Bug2 Blog this week.     Enjoy - Maureen

BBTB2: Cricut Just Chillin' Shirts

A little after Xmas I made a couple of shirts for the grands.  This is the first matching shirts they have as far as I know.   The granddaughter got a long sleeve girls shirt and the little guy got a thermal long sleeve.  I used the same wording and penguin for both, just adjusting the sizes of the images and a few colors.

Our theme this week at Bitten By The Bug2 is a challenge of using a cute animal on our card, layout, or project.   Caroline, from Card Creations by Caroline selected our fun challenge.  I thought this penguin is just about as cute as can be and so is the model wearing the shirt.    I took several pictures of the kids trying to get the perfect pose, in this picture with both, my grandson was imitating my granddaughter's pose.  Nailed it!!

Come on over to Bitten By the Bug2 and link up a Cricut project using a cute animal this week!  Lots to choose from, even Disney cuts would work.

Quilts: Quiltville Mystery en Provence 2017

I have made lots of progress on my first mystery quilt.  Hundreds of people have completed wonderful versions of Bonnie Hunters Quiltville en Provence since the first of the year.  I work on it a couple hours here and there when I can. I am finally done with my taxes so I am going to restart my quilt assembly later today.  So far, I have all 2,800 pieces cut and the 3 1/2" units complete. I've assembled my sashing units and lots of units for the main square. This is going to be a big quilt.

Here are one of the squares and stacks of strips ready for assembly of my scrappy quilt.  I guarantee you need to see the "bigger picture" to see what it will look like when completed, completely different than what you see here.    Let's get sewing!

Linking up to Quiltville's linky event HERE.  Come see what all the excitement is about.

BBTB2: Cricut - Shake It Off Layout

The other Grandma took a few pictures of our granddaughter right before going to Dance Class.  It's really hard to believe she is only 5 years old - the close up picture looks right from a model's photo shoot.  I knew I had to make a layout using a couple of the pictures.

Our Bitten By the Bug2 challenge this week is "Red and White for any Occasion", so I went that route with my pictures.  I fell in love with the 'tree of hearts' from Miss Kates Cutables, so I played around with the svg in different sizes on the page.  (remember the days when we didn't have any software and had to guess on a size to cut our die cut on the Expression?)   I added the 'Dance' cut from Wall Decor and More, and I went with a title of Shake It Off using the Friday Cricut Font, which was the saying on my granddaughter's shirt.  An easy layout this week with lots of personality - just like my granddaughter!

Link up your 'Red and White' project or card at our Bitten By the Bug2 blog and also take a visit to see all the great projects that our team is sharing this week.   Happy Valentines Day everyone!

BBTB2: Cricut - Happy Valentines Day Two Ways

Two cards are better than one, right?   I made a few cards for the grandkids, and then wanted to make one for my sister that has a vintage sewing theme.  I found the perfect print on the internet, uploaded it into Design Space and used the same tag background that I had made for a previous card.  Just re-sized it and I was good to go.  It says "I NEEDLE little Valentine SEW I've choosen you!". These tags use the Valentine's Day cart for the tag and the cute clown boy is from Victorian Romance.  I added a little bling of gems, ribbon, and stamps.  The swirls were part of the tag and used a pen in the Explore.

Kelly, from Kelly's Koncoctions,  is our hostess at Bitten By the Bug2 this week.  Our challenge is to make a Valentine's Day card.  I am sure we will have lots of entries - will I see yours as well?   Link up your V-Day card to our Bitten By the Bug2 blog.   Enjoy - Maureen
