Hi Everyone - This week I am hosting the challenge at BBTB2, and it is OWLS. I see them everywhere, on material, home decor, and lots of art projects. There are 45 different Cricut cuts with owls on them, you are sure to have at least a few in your cartridge collection. Please join our challenge over at BBTB2. I would love to see "Hoo" participates.
I have two projects for you this week, both with owls. It was hard to choose between the two, so I didn't! First up, a Tootsie Pop and Tootsie Roll 60th birthday present I created using a bag of Tootsies from Costco. I hot glued them onto a styrofoam ball on top of a vase. I put the Dots inside the vase, and the top part lifts off when someone wants candy. The owl is from Paisley, and the balloons from Celebrations. My second project is an opening page of a baby book that I made for a sweet little boy. It also uses the Paisley owl, and the saying and title are from Artbooking.

It's a Dog's Life
Yes, this dog is spoiled, but he is not mine. He belongs to the other grandparents and my son-in-law. He is the meanest looking boxer you have ever seen, but in real life is the wimpiest pup you have ever seen. He crashed into the screen door once and wouldn't go near the door for a week. As you can tell, he is also a great guard dog, watching over my granddaughter. This was taken about a year ago by Grandma "R" and is one of my favorite pictures. However, she took it with her cell and used a square format, which did not translate to 5x7 at all. So I had to print a 8x8 and crop it down after making the layout. I was going to stamp lots of small dogs on the vertical strip and then came up with the idea to fill the overlay with his name. I used Mickey Font and CCR for the die cuts on this layout.
Sharon, from MeeMee's Creations is our hostess this week for Bitten by the Bug2 and has selected a dog die cut for our Linky challenge. I automatically knew I wanted to use this picture in my layout. Coming up with a design was a challenge for me. Link up your 'dog' inspired project, card, or layout at BBTB2. Look forward to seeing what you design. Ruff, Ruff!!!

Father's Day Card - Italia
My Italian husband has been waiting for months for the World Cup of Soccer to start. I thought I would make a Father's Day card with the Italian Flag and a trophy to say 'good luck Italy' as well as to have a great day. The trophy was a hand-me-down die cut, and I used CCR text for the writing. Hand cut the glitter green and red background for the flag. I put a 'Happy Father's Day" cut from CCR (it's still free this week) on the inside. 2nd version: Added the soccer ball I found on Artbooking. Had to manipulate the background in CCR, as it only had the cut out soccer ball cut.

Get Well Cards
This week at BBTB2, Emily is hosting and she has selected a Get Well Card as our challenge. I usually don't make get well cards, but I occasionally need one, so thought I would make several. I made them with different overlays from the Artbooking cartridge. The 'Perk Me Up?" message is something I came up with myself when going though the cartridge books to come up with an idea. I'm sure it's been used before, but I thought I was being pretty clever. The percolator and the "Perk Me Up" is from Suburbia, and the "Need a Little" is from CCR basics. For the text bubble, I took a LOL in a bubble from the Artbooking cartridge and edited it in CCR.
Which of the 4 versions is your favorite? I like the red backgrounds the best. Now head on over to the BBTB2 blog to see what the team has in store for you this week.

Cricut MB Christmas Cookie Recipe Swap - Yummy
Isn't this red and green elf just a cutie? He's been inked and Stickled and just ready to start some Christmas baking. This is one of 20 that I made for a recipe swap on the Cricut MB. I've had to wait several weeks to post this one because they hadn't been mailed back yet. It's always a surprise until we open our package from the hostess. There were a lot of pieces to the 20 elves, it took an entire evening to put them together. I used the Christmas Solutions cartridge for the elf (yes he is so small on the display card I couldn't really make him out) and CCR for the title (using the reverse image and welding in a box over the text). These are 6x6 inches, making the design a little challenging. Let's get baking!!

BBTB2 Design Team - Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Welcome back to my blog. Today's post is my selection for the BBTB http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/ blog. This is my 2nd week as a designer. Having fun so far and enjoying the challenge. Our challenge this week is Awareness Month, and I have selected to make a card for Breast Cancer Awareness. I have several friends who are cancer survivors, and for the last several years, I always send a card to let them know I remember and love them. The pink ribbon is from the Pink Journey cart, the lady is from Surburbia, and CCR provided the lettering. I stamped Think Pink in pinks, and inked the lettering and added brown shadows. Thanks for looking.
