Happy Birthday - Cake Challenge

I spent a lot of time creating this card - maybe I was being picky, maybe I lost my mojo today - I just don't know.  However, I do know it turned out better than I thought it would.   I wanted muted colors and ran across this cut on the Over the Hill cartridge and loved it. Paper from DCWV and added rhinestones for bling.  I also popped the cake off the card and then added a double scallop oval for the background.  The paper background is a page from a replica old Sears catalog, which is naturally aged. Our challenge this week at BBTB2, hosted by Diana is to use a birthday cake Cricut cut.   So glad I didn't wait until the last minute to get this card ready.     Join us in the challenge this week at BBTB2.

Bird Note Cards

Today I would like to share a few easy note cards.  Our challenge this week at BBTB2 was created by designer Caroline, and is to use a bird in our Cricut project.   I chose to highlight the birds from the Songbird cartridge and accent with words from the Walk in My Garden cartridge.  All layers were inked before assembly.  I added Skittles for bling - I just ordered them from Abusybee.  Good prices and quick delivery.

Tweet out a song and join us in this week's challenge at BBTB2.  Enjoy!

If you like the Skittles, you can purchase them from "Abusybee".  Just click HERE.

Easter Project - Pail of Treats

My granddaughter is 2 1/2, and she loves 'treats'.  This Easter pail is full of candy, socks, hair barrettes, sidewalk chalk, and a new dress.   She loves Hello Kitty, so I just had to decorate it with Kitty waving Hello!!!  On the back I put her name in larger letters.  I used adhesive vinyl that I buy online at Etsy.  The layering was pretty easy, but the silhouette outline (black) didn't match up perfectly with the colors, I'll have to try it with paper as well.  Can't believe I am done with my Easter basket for her early, I guess it is because Easter is so late this year.   Tomorrow we will have some fun dying hard boiled eggs, she was too young last year, but this year will be a blast - and perhaps a little messy!  I don't mind.   I decorated two other pails for 2 brothers with a Disney theme but forgot take pictures before giving them away.  Maybe they will send me a picture.

This week at BBTB2, our hostess, Brenda, has asked us to showcase our Easter projects.  I can't wait to see what the ladies have in store for all of us.  Come and join the celebration and post your Easter projects to our blog.

It's All About the Chocolate

Admit it, Easter chocolate and Whopper eggs are some of the best candy.  Today I have a humorous card about chocolate bunnies.   Perfect for our challenge this week at BBTB2, hosted by Susan, who wants to see bunnies.  I am going to make several of these cards to send out at Easter.

I used the Easter 2010 Cricut cartridge for the bunnies and grass, editing them in CCR.  The background paper is G45 Secret Garden.  Yes it was hard to use that paper, it is so special.  Link up your bunny project using a Cricut cut at BBTB2.   Enjoy!

Sharing a Picture of the Family

I thought I would share a picture of our family today.  That's a recent picture of us taken by the family photographer, didn't it turn out great!

Happy April Fool's Day!

Ha, Ha, Ha!   Got ya!     This is the first one I ever made, and probably the last.   But it was fun to think up and create.   I used the Don Juan cartridge for the lettering, and Animal Kingdom for the animals.
