BBTB2: Cricut - Beware of Frankenstein

Here's a spooky and scary post.  I just love this BEWARE image from the Autumn Celebrations cartridge.  It's my entry for the Bitten by the Bug2 challenge for the next two weeks.  Our theme is HALLOWEEN.   Come on over and check out the designers and then again later in the week to see what others have linked up.  You can link up using your Instagram, Pinterest, blog, or other accounts.

This vinyl was not very easy to get out all the lumps and bumps.  I did the best I could, but with the big uneven ridges of the pumpkin, well, it is just what it is.   Hope it lasts a few years, as it is striking when you come up to the front door.

BBTB2: Cricut - Trick and Treats for Halloween

What happens when I don't take my time and think things through?  Well, I make stupid mistakes.  In this case, no big deal, just creative choices.   I have two ironing mistakes on my pillow for Halloween.  Can you find them?  I just decided the end result was good enough, and since it was for myself, I didn't try to correct my mistakes.   I took three images and put them together to form this Halloween pillow.  The witch looks blue on my computer screen, however, it is purple in real life.  I have never had Halloween pillows before, but with a rust colored leather couch, the setting was perfect.  Now I need to make a Thanksgiving themed pillow, perhaps on the back of this pillow casing.

I am hosting at Bitten by the Bug2 these next two weeks, and the theme will be to use a Cricut cut Word that pertains to Fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving.  I hope there will be a lot of entries as there are a lot of choices from the Cricut Library and cartridges.  Our themes now go for two weeks and you can use your blog, Pinterest, Instagram or other accounts to link up your entry.  Happy Fall Y'All!

Cartridges Used:

Trick or Treat: Marketing Scenes (never heard of this cartridge before today)
Witch with Gate: Autumn Celebrations

BBTB2: Cricut - A League of Their Own Baseball Layout

This layout takes me way back as I used pictures of when my kids were little.  I had these in a double frame in my office and since I am in 'purge' mode these days, out went the frame and in went the pictures into a layout.  These pictures are over 20 years old, I had written on the back of one (so important to do) that my son was 9 at the time, he's now 31.  I've had that baseball paper for a long time too.

Our theme this week at Bitten By the Bug2 is a "book or movie theme", meaning you creation should be related to a book or a movie.  As you can see I picked "A League of Their Own" as my theme for the week.  Amy, from AOCreations, is our sweet hostess.   Join in our challenge and submit your project or card to our Bitten By the Bug2 blog Linky by using your blog or Pinterest links.

BBTB2: Cricut - Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving

There are some days when I get depressed and I want more. More time, more money, more things, more cars, etc.  Then I reflect and realize that I am truly blessed with all I do have - Love, family, a nice house, a newer car, and money in my bank account.  There are many people who don't know where their next meal is coming from, or where they are going to sleep tonight.  I quickly get those thoughts out of my mind and thank God and my family for all the good things that I do have.  At Thanksgiving, we are reminded of things we are thankful for and we also give thanks, say thanks more often, and reflect upon the year.

I would like to share a card I made for our Bitten By the Bug2 challenge this week, which is to use the words Thanks or Thankful on a card or a project using my Cricut.   I used the Celebrate With Flourish, Autumn Celebrations, and Lovely Floral for this very bright card.  Won't you join the other designers, including our hostess, Susan from Busy with the Cricky,  and link up your "Thank/Thankful" card on the BBTB2 blog this week.  Happy Thanksgiving.  Enjoy, Maureen

Here are a few other cards I made for fall/Thanksgiving.  Some use ATC cards and pieces from pocket letters  I received in swaps.  ATCs are for sharing - I don't put them in a book and never look at them again.

BBTB2: Cricut Back to School Layout - First Day of School

My granddaughter was two weeks short of the deadline for kindergarten, so she is going to Pre-K at the elementary school.  She is so excited and says her school is the most awesome-est place.  She is really having fun and meeting new friends.  Her mommy, my daughter made a sign and snapped a picture of her and that gigantic smile.

Michelle, from Cricut Crazy Scrapper, is our hostess this week.  She is a master artist in making layouts, and I'm sure she will have a great layout for you to view over at Bitten By the Bug2.  The other designers have some 'school is cool' projects too.  Come join us for our 'Back to School' challenge and link up your card, layout or project this week.   Enjoy!  -- Maureen

I used a lot of cartridges from Design Space for this layout. - Backpack is Doodlecharms, spiral paper and pencil are Family Album, 1st Day and Nametag are Artbooking, school house is Autumn Celebrations, ABC is Recess, apple is Paisley.  I added a strip of washi tape at the bottom and inked all the edges.

BBTB - Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  I am hosting dinner this year for about 10 members of the family.  Everyone is bringing something, so my work in the kitchen will be a lot less than previous years.  It works out good because everyone brings their specialty item and we all eat way too much of good food.

My granddaughter brought home the cutest Indian headband and turkey picture last week.  I had to make a scrapbook page, which fit right in with our BBTB2 theme this week.  Also notice the shirt she is wearing that I showed in a previous post.  So darn cute!

L.B. is our hostess, whe selected our challenge, which is to use the word 'Thanks' in our project.  Come join us while the turkey is in the oven and link up your 'thanks' project.

I've added Skittles from A Busy Bee, and did a lot of inking and some white gel pen to accent.  I'm going to ask my granddaughter what she is thankful for and journal her words in the bottom right of the page.  Cartridges used:  Autumn Celebrations, Animal Kingdom, Disney Classics

Cricut BBTB2 - BEWARE of Halloween

Yes - BEWARE - it's time to eat candy, lots of candy.   It's been out for over a month now.  As of this writing, I haven't eaten any of it.   Can't say that will happen once my husband goes to the store and sees his favorites - Reeses Peanut Butter Cups.

This is a little bit of a scary card to share this week.  I love the Frankenstein cut and I decided to go with dark colors.  I'll send it to an adult so that I don't scare any little ones.

Frankenstein is from the Cricut Autumn Celebrations cartridge.  The web is from Monster Bash and Stickled.  The spider is from Designers Calendar.  I just added a basic bracket background twice and pop dotted Frankie and it was done.

Take a look at our projects at  BBTB2 and  enjoy our creative Halloween projects.  I thank our hostess for the week, Melanie.

Cricut BBTB2 - It's Fall, Y'all

Yes - Fall is in the air - the leaves on the trees have started to change here in Northern CA - where has summer gone?

I made a FALL Banner for my mantel. Since I made two of them, I alternated the letters to add extra color.  I had to stop with the embellishments, sometimes less is better.    It is my project this week at BBTB2.  Michelle, from http://cricutcrazyscrapper.blogspot.com/ is our hostess and has challenged us and you to use the word FALL or AUTUMN on a project or card.   Slip on over to BBTB2 and see our projects and link up one of your own.

BBTB2 Watch the Road - Cricut Sign challenge

Hi All - It's my turn to select the challenge at BBTB2 this week and I selected a Sign, as in a banner or a informational sign (stop sign).  Head on over and see the wonderful signage at BBTB2 from all the designers and link up your Cricut inspired project.  The people sign is from Autumn Celebrations, the Curve sign is from Artiste, the Stop sign is from Nates ABCs, and the GO sign is from Going Places. Kite is from Classroom -April and May.   The titles - Let's Go and Beep-Beep and the motorcycle cut are from the Beep Beep cartridge.   I added an octagon as a background, but most of it is covered.  I cut these during the free subscription back in April.

This is my granddaughter when she turned two.  Her parents and her uncle gave her an electric motorcycle (both dad and uncle are Harley riders).  She called it her 'room-room'.   At first she wasn't too sure and later on you couldn't get her off.  It plays music and has a couple of speeds, I so wish they had them when I was little.

Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving Time

I could have made a nice card this week with my cuts, but in a moment of creativeness, I thought to decorate my outdoor pumpkin for Thanksgiving.   Using the Cricut Celebrate with Flourish, Autumn Celebrations, and the Lovely Floral cartridges, this project came together pretty easily.  Of course I like to add ink and Stickles on almost anything. The Love, Family, and Friends are cut outs from patterned paper. I pop dotted all the cuts so that in total it is about 1" off the page.  It is displayed on my out door entry table.  I hope you enjoy my project and my blog entries.

First - I was chosen as the weekly Guest Designer at My Sheri Crafts.  Yahoo, I am thrilled.  The theme is "#146 - It's Turkey Time" - Add a Turkey to your card/project (11/8/14 - 11/21/14).  I love all the fall colors and just came back from a trip to the east coast to see the fall foliage.  In the mountains there were trees full of color as far as I could see. There is always great participation in Sheri's challenges, so come and join.  Gobble, Gobble!

Second - Caroline from http://cardcreationsbycaroline.blogspot.com/ is our BBTB2 hostess this week (starting 11/10/14), and she wants us to use a Cricut pumpkin in our projects.   Join us at BBTB2 to link up your pumpkin card, layout, or project!  Happy Fall!
