Nap Time for Sam

I am starting off great capturing all the baby pictures and getting them scrapped of my little grandson, Samuel.  I know that won't last long.  Today is another set of newborn pictures using a few different cartridges - Nifty Fifties for the clock, Paper Doll Dress Up for the moon and baby.   I cut the later two twice so I could incorporate another layer as these 'accessories' only have one layer.  I did some inking with my Stampin Up Blendabilities (see right side of blog for Stampin Up) on the baby.  The middle words are just stickers I had in my 'baby' box.

Diana, from DLART is our hostess this week and selected a 'clock' for our challenge.   Join up by linking your card or project up to BBTB2, which would include a Cricut cut of a clock.

Happy Birthday to my Hairdresser

I don't do shape cards very often.  I know how to create them on the Explore or in CCR and I should make more of them.  This blow dryer shaped card is for my daughter, the hair dresser, who has a birthday in February. The shape is from the Paisley cartridge, however, I made it with darker colors than the example in the cartridge book.  I saw the "Ready, Set, Blow" on a birthday cake layout and thought it would work on my card, so I used the draw/text feature in the Explore.

Caroline of Card Creations by Caroline is our hostess designer this week at BBTB2.  She has asked us to create a 'shaped' card using our Cricut machines.  Link up your shaped card to BBTB2 this week and be sure to use a Cricut cut.  Happy Crafting!

She Said YES

My nephew recently got engaged.  He proposed to his fiancĂ© on stage after singing with the band they came to watch.  He said it was the greatest day of his life.  That explains the nature of my funky card today.  It depicts my nephew proposing with a silhouette of a set of drums and music in the background. I think the drums came out a little big, but I'm not going to redo it. Of course I had to add a diamond gem to the ring.

I used Sweethearts, Rock Princess, and Hannah Montana for the cuts.  I used the slice feature to add the words.  Enjoy.

So Charming

For this week's BBTB2 challenge, our sweet design sister Brenda, from http://friendscraftinwithfriends.blogspot.com/, has asked us to use the "charm feature" from any Cricut cartridge.  Well, I had an idea of a charm bracelet jump into my head, and below is the finished layout of my 'charming' granddaughter.  I did several searches for 'charm' on my Explore and "mycutsearch.com" to find charms I could use.  I picked out several and a border that looked like a chain to create my bracelet.  Join us at BBTB2 by linking up your 'charms feature' projects and cards.

Frame Tag - Don Juan
Mailbox, Baby, Heart Charms - Doodlecharms
Charming Word - Lovely Floral
Chain Link Border - Artbooking

Love at First Sight

Today at BBTB2 Susan from Busy with the Cricky has asked us to make a baby project.  How fitting, since both of us just became grandparents!  My 2nd grandbaby is a boy, so there will be lots of new projects featuring him.  Here is my first layout of Baby Sam's first few hours.  He is now 6 weeks old and changing every day.

Join us with your baby related Cricut project this week at BBTB2.  Here is the rundown on my layout. ' It's a Boy' is from Beyond Birthdays cartridge.  Giraffe, baby bottle, baby block and pacifier from Stork's Delivery.  I can't find the Ric Rack border again, it could be Artiste. Scalloped circle from A First Few Years.
