As I write this post, it's raining and blowing in my neck of the woods, I hope Spring makes an appearance soon, as I am ready to get working on my backyard this year. All this rain lead me to create this rainy day card with Hello Kitty.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow - One of my favorite songs has been incorporated into my card today. The title just jumped into my head after staring at the screen for a bit. Now my card can be used for any number of occasions, as I was originally thinking of a get-well card. Our challenge theme this week was chosen by our long-time designer at Bitten by the Bug2, Carolyn, from Card Creations by Carolyn, and she wants everyone to use a Cricut 'Umbrella" cut on our card or project. Hop on over to the Bitten by the Bug2 blog and link up your project or card HERE.

BBTB2: Cricut - Down By the Bay with Family
For Mother's Day I always want to do something outdoors - dining in a restaurant on this crazy day is just not for me. The last few years we have gone on a hike. There is an estuary by the San Mateo Bridge that has an interpretative center and several hiking/biking trails next to the bay. We hiked and the kids rode bikes, while sighting birds, ladybugs, spiders, and wildflowers. It was a nice morning stroll along a route that we have been by hundreds of times but haven't visited in years!
Our Bitten By the Bug2 challenge this week is "Water Fun". If it involves water - the beach, the ocean, the pool, or fire hydrant, it's good. Let's get wet and see your fun water related cards and projects - just link them up on the BBTB2 blog. Laurie, from Crafty Sisters Creations is our hostess, her designs are awesome.
Lots of cartridges used for this layout - I think there were about 20 mats needed, yes it took awhile to cut out all those pieces and ink them.
Geese: Outdoor Man
Seagull: Sea, Birds, and Fish
Waves and plants: Disney Princesses
Waves Frame: Artbooking
Cloud: Hello Kitty

BBTB2: Cricut Christmas Card - Peave, Joy, Love
I forgot to post my project from Bitten by the Bug to my blog this week. So here it is, better late than never. I was out of town so did not have computer access.
My card uses several cartridges - Holly and Ivy, Hello Kitty Font, Extreme Fonts, and others. Note the little bird on the letter - isn't he cute. I almost never make a white background for my cards - got to look to expand my techniques.
Join us at BBTB2 to post up a project you create for our challenge - Using Christmas Words as part of the project/card. Caroline from http://cardcreationsbycaroline.blogspot.com/ is our hostess for the week - I just love her cards - she's the best. Happy Holidays.

BBTB2 - High School Graduation Masculine Card
I am late in posting this graduation card for Bitten By the Bug2 this week. I made the card from several cartridges and used the school colors of the graduate. Diploma from Hello Kitty Greetings, hat from Something To Celebrate. The candy bar grad coffee cup is a little extra - for girls I put in silk flowers instead of candy. Link up your graduation or thank you cards at BBTB2 this week. Enjoy!

BBTB2 Cricut: Hello Kitty Christmas
Happy Holidays Friends,
By now, the Christmas spirit is in full sprint. It's cold and rainy here, I'm inspired to put up the Christmas tree today, and put on holiday movies. Crafting has filled my evenings and I completed 3 holiday layouts in the last few days.
My layout today is made to hold pictures of my granddaughter hanging ornaments on the tree. Hello Kitty cuts came in perfect for this child-like layout. The layout also includes cuts from Winter Frolic for the title and Create A Critter 2 for the small ornaments. Lynn of http://mycardsnstuff.blogspot.com/ is our hostess at BBTB2 this week. Our challenge is to use an animal or a bird in our project. Join our Holiday inspired challenge at Bitten By the Bug 2.

Butterfly Kisses from Daddy
This is one of the first wedding pictures I have scrapped. It's almost a year, so I had better get crafting if I am to have an album done for Christmas! This is my son in law giving a butterfly kiss to his daughter. (yes they got married after the DGD was 2). The colors were green and brown, thus the color palette. The Hello Kitty Butterfly and words are from Hello Kitty Font, and the butterflies are from Once Upon A Princess. I was inspired by a Post from Faith Abigail, I wish she was still posting, her designs are beautiful.
Melanie is our hostess this week at BBTB2. Her challenge to all is to use a Cricut butterfly in our projects or cards. I knew which cut I wanted to use right away. I am really happy with this layout, it is one of my all time favorites (I have a new fav every other month). Come over to BBTB and link up a butterfly project.

Hello Kitty - The Movie Star
Hello Everyone - I have a pair of projects to show you this week. Our hostess for the week is Laura and she has challenged us to alter a Cricut cut in some way. I decided to alter a few Hello Kitty cuts via the online Cricut Craft Room. All of the light purple cuts were done with one file, one 'cut'. I overlayed that paper over a striped purple and a dark purple background and put white Stickles on the butterfly and hair barrette. It looks like a fairly easy layout, but me and the Craft Room don't always agree with what I want to do on the page. I probably took an hour designing this page. I really could have made the cuts separately and glued them to a dark purple page, but then I wouldn't have achieved my goal of an overlay. I'll try this technique again. The pictures are of my granddaughter in her new Hello Kitty bathing suit and an Easter pail she uses as a purse. With those glasses, she looks like a little movie star.

I used the 'weeded' portion of the Kitty and Hello cuts to make a baby shower card. Using the same colors made it easy, and all I added was cut the word 'baby' from the CCR for the inside of the card. I made the card in less than 5 minutes ( I guess that makes up for the time I spent on the overlay design).
Join us for our 'Altered Cricut Cut' challenge at BBTB2 - http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com. I would love to see what you can create.

Easter Project - Pail of Treats
My granddaughter is 2 1/2, and she loves 'treats'. This Easter pail is full of candy, socks, hair barrettes, sidewalk chalk, and a new dress. She loves Hello Kitty, so I just had to decorate it with Kitty waving Hello!!! On the back I put her name in larger letters. I used adhesive vinyl that I buy online at Etsy. The layering was pretty easy, but the silhouette outline (black) didn't match up perfectly with the colors, I'll have to try it with paper as well. Can't believe I am done with my Easter basket for her early, I guess it is because Easter is so late this year. Tomorrow we will have some fun dying hard boiled eggs, she was too young last year, but this year will be a blast - and perhaps a little messy! I don't mind. I decorated two other pails for 2 brothers with a Disney theme but forgot take pictures before giving them away. Maybe they will send me a picture.
This week at BBTB2, our hostess, Brenda, has asked us to showcase our Easter projects. I can't wait to see what the ladies have in store for all of us. Come and join the celebration and post your Easter projects to our blog.

BBTB2 - Pumpkin Time Challenge
This week's challenge at BBTB2 is "Pumpkin time". I love the cuts on Hello Kitty, and so does my 2 year old granddaughter. She calls her "KI KI", and even has little Hello Kitty earrings, clothes and purses. This is a layout I made using a similar design that some on the Cricut message board posted a few years ago that I have saved in the "I've got to make that someday" file. My GD was only 1.5 months old when these pictures were taken. She was dressed as a banana baby along with mom and daddy, and the other one is with me and we are looking at the pumpkin my son grew. All cuts were from the Hello Kitty Cricut cartridge. Happy carving!
