BBTB2 - Pumpkin Time Challenge

This week's challenge at BBTB2 is "Pumpkin time".   I love the cuts on Hello Kitty, and so does my 2 year old granddaughter.  She calls her "KI KI", and even has little Hello Kitty earrings, clothes and purses.   This is a layout I made using a similar design that some on the Cricut message board posted a few years ago that I have saved in the "I've got to make that someday" file.   My GD was only 1.5 months old when these pictures were taken.   She was dressed as a banana baby along with mom and daddy, and the other one is with me and we are looking at the pumpkin my son grew.   All cuts were from the Hello Kitty Cricut cartridge.   Happy carving!

BBTB2 Design Team - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Welcome back to my blog.  Today's post is my selection for the BBTB http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/ blog.  This is my 2nd week as a designer.  Having fun so far and enjoying the challenge.   Our challenge this week is Awareness Month, and I have selected to make a card for Breast Cancer Awareness.  I have several friends who are cancer survivors, and for the last several years, I always send a card to let them know I remember and love them.   The pink ribbon is from the Pink Journey cart, the lady is from Surburbia, and CCR provided the lettering.  I stamped Think Pink in pinks, and inked the lettering and added brown shadows.  Thanks for looking.

Yes That's Me

This is a 5x7 card that I made as a joke for someone at work.   Yes, that is me when we were camping many years ago.  We had a porcelin pot that we called the 'pee' pot that went on road trips.   I copied the picture and stuck it on a patterned paper that was like a denim pocket.   Hope I made you smile.

BBTB2 - Design Team - Grape Harvest - Leaves

Welcome to my blog.  This is my first post for the BBTB Design Team.  You can see their fantastic blog by clicking here:  http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/.   This week the challenge is the fall maple leaf.  I used a slightly different leaf, making a layout of my granddaughter harvesting grapes from the backyard grape arbor.   The 'fencing' is from the Sophisticated cart, the word grape and grapes/leaves from the Preserves cart, and the word harvest from the Freshly Picked cart.  Everything was inked and layered.   Notice the burlap strip beneath the leaves, I thought it made a nice rustic effect.   On the closeup of the leaves, I am trying to show how I take different colored inks to the leaves to make them look like they are changing colors.  I used browns, oranges, yellows, and greens.

Fall Layout - First Thanksgiving

This is a one page layout I made for my granddaughter's first Thanksgiving.   I used the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge and the Plantin Schoolbook in different fonts to make the words.  Can't recall where the hat is from, I may have gotten it in a swap on the Cricut Message Board.  It will definitely hold a few cute pictures of her all dressed up in her finest for the occasion.

Linked to the BBTB for their Fall Challenge this week.   http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2013/09/anything-fall-goes-use-fall-theme-on.html   There are some great projects designed by these ladies that provide lots of inspiration.

Wedding and Shower Banner - BBTB Designer Team Call

My daughter is getting married soon.  Here is a banner that I put together for her shower and for use at the wedding.  Her colors/theme are rustic, natural and moss/dark green.  Perfect for a fall wedding.   I found it is really hard to make romantic items in green, but I got it to work.   Most of the cuts were done using the new Artiste cartridge.   The W is for there new last name and I used Tie the Knot cartridge.   Lots of embellishments, including flowers cut from Artiste.

Entering this in the BBTB2 Designer call.  Their blog is http://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/   Pictures are not the greatest, but it is impossible to capture the entire banner and be able to see details.  See my next post for the flower girl basket.

Flower Girl Basket using Artiste BBTB Designer Team CAll

Hi - Here with a project that is related to my daughters fall wedding.  This is the basket for the flower girl, which just happens to be my granddaughter.  I cut flowers from the Artiste cartridge and inked and rolled them.   Set with hot glue onto a styroform ball inserted into the basket.  Ivy, dried baby's breath, and ribbon/netting finish off the project.  I am really happy with the vintage look and it will surely be a keepsake in the family for a long time.
All together the project only took about 45 minues to make.  Having made these flowers previously helped in being able to put them together quickly.

Wedding Card - Vintage True Love

I love bright and vintage, this one says all that.  I had the parts to the card readily available and this card came together in about 5 minutes.  I had a collection of wedding cuts from Tie the Knot and happened to have TRUE LOVE cut in red with a white shadow.   The base of the card was leftovers from a set of invitations.   Used the swirl Cuttlebug folder and then put a grayish ink on the top to bring out the embossing.  Tag was purchased from ETSY or Ebay.

Doctor Visit Layout

I got some doctor related cuts in a swap this last month with the intention of using them in a doctor visit layout of my granddaughter.  The cuts were a little small, so I grouped them together and put on circles.  The sticker given to her by the nurse was also used on the layout.  The white box will be used to journal her stats for the day - weight, height, etc.

Valentines Spool Swap

OK I GIVE UP - IT'S GOING IN SIDEWAYS

Had this one all ready to go for 2 weeks waiting for the challenges for Valentines Day projects.

I have tried 10 times to get this picture to post the right direction, I give up.   This was a spool swap that I did on the Cricut message board.  I used 3 spools.   Yes those are cupcake liners, also used lace, paper, and a heart on a stick from the $1 store.  The Cricut cut is Celebrate with Flourish.  Added lots of bling in the way of stickles, roses, stick pin, and ribbon/rickrack.  I really like how it turned out.
